West central Railway has started cashless transaction on four stations in a bid to promote pay-by-card. PoS (Point of Sale) machines are introduced on two stations of Jabalpur-Madanmahal and Jabalpur Junction and on Bhopal Main station and Bhopal-Habibganj Station. According to Railway officials railway has entered into an arrangement with SBI to provide swiping machines on ticket counters. All these measures are taken by railway is to promote cashless transaction and to make people aware of transaction through credit/ debit cards. This facility is also introduced for parcel booking counters. So far thirteen swiping machines have been installed by SBI and soon more such stations will be covered by West Central Railway. |
