Four employees of the Waltair Division have bagged the prestigious Railway Minister's Award for their outstanding and meritorious services. The awards were presented to them by the Railway Minister as part of the 57{+t}{+h}Railway Week celebrations in Delhi on Monday. They are: P. Nagabhushana Rao, Chief Controller of Waltair Division, for the pivotal role played by him for generating additional revenue and maintaining punctuality of trains. He was a recipient of awards twice at the GM's level, twice at the DRM's level and once at the Chief Operation Manager's level for his exemplary service, according to Senior Divisional Commercial Manager G.V.S. Sarma.Pathi, a Trackman at Bacheli was selected for the award for his alertness and prompt action, which averted a major disaster.He detected a bomb planted on the railway track between Dantewara and Kamalur Stations on Kottavalasa - Kirandul ghat section. M. Srinivasa Rao, a Loco Pilot, Bacheli showed presence of mind and responded promptly by stopping the train on observing the removal of track for about 15 metres between Bacheli and Kirandul stations and averted a major disaster.Ch. Bhaskar, a Crane Driver, showed his zeal and enthusiasm and applied his skill in difficult and vulnerable locations between Bhansi and Kamalur stations on the Kottavalasa - Kirandul ghat section and operated the crane to effect the salvage operations in the minimum possible time for restoring the train operations. |
