Una – Hamirpur rail line construction has become a political issue. Hamirpur MP of BJP Anurag Thakur claimed that Union ministry of railways has approved construction of 50km of rail line costing around Rs 2815 crore. But the claim of Anurag Thakur was questioned by Congress government. Congress says that railway has not even done a detailed survey of line. On the other hand Anurag Thakur claims that Rs 400 crore has already been sanctioned in the budget for the rail project as survey was already done in last year June. On Friday, Congress government of state issued a statement in which it was claimed that Railway has only made a token provision of Rs one crore for the Una-Hamirpur line in 2017-18 Union Budget. Non-expansion of railway in Himachal Pradesh is a major issue and BJP leaders from state earlier used to blame successive Congress governments at Centre for ignoring the interest of Himachal Pradesh by not providing new lines. | ||
