The well maintained Udagamandalam Railway station garden has become the centre of attraction for many a tourist and nature aficionados visiting the ‘Queen of the Hills’, Ooty. The garden is maintained by Station Gardener of Udagamandalam, Shri.Kakkamallan whose efforts have borne fruits with the garden winning accolades continuously. Significantly, the garden has won the Rolling trophy for the Best Maintained Garden from Tamilnadu Tourism Development Corporation during the years 1999-2002 and 2004 – 2007. It is noteworthy that the garden has also been bagging the first prize for Best Maintained Garden from the Department of Horticulture, Govt. of Tamilnadu consecutively from 2011 to 2017. | ||
