Ahmedabad Railway Division officials, taking serious note of a complaint accusing two employees at Ahmedabad Railway station of misbehaviour, has transferred them with immediate effect. Booking clerk Sneha Sharma has been transferred to Pranjit railway station in Himmatnagar while shift supervisor N T Jaswani has been transferred to Bhuj.Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Dinesh Chanchodiya said, “We have taken a serious note of the complaint filed by Keyur Surti who was abused and threatened by Sharma and Jaswani respectively. This will set an example for other employees on how to deal with passengers.” Ahmedabad Railway Division officials have asked for a primary report on Sharma and Jaswani’s misbehaviour with a passenger. The authorities have also asked for any other complaint against the duo or other staff at the station.Divisional Regional Manager Rakesh Behal said, “Employees must be polite always. They have been trained to be cordial with public whatever be the situation. This move is supposed to send a message to other staffers, too.” However, Sneha Sharma told Mirror, “I did not misbehave. Surti was the one who behaved badly. He wanted priority. So he started abusing us and he called us ba****d. Surti claimed his father was a cop and he would get me suspended if I did not give him the ticket first. Now I have been wrongly punished. I have a family. The department should look into the matter.”Mirror had reported, on Friday, how two railway employees had misbehaved with 22-year-old Keyur Surti who had requested sluggish Sharma to work a bit faster.Sharma had verbally abused him. Later, Jaswani had warned Surti against filing a complaint by threatening that Sharma would file a counter complaint accusing him of molestation. |
