The Railway police arrested two women, on charges of stealing valuables from the passengers, from Bhopal railway station on Wednesday.According to the GRP, the accused — Jyoti and Nandini — were caught red-handed when they were trying to steal purse from a passenger in the waiting room at Bhopal station platform number one. To steal the valuables, the women used to distract the passenger by using biscuits in water and when the passengers get busy in removing the stains, the other woman used to steal the valuables.The accused have accepted to have committed the crimes at railway station and many thefts in the past in different States and during the investigation the stolen goods are likely to be recovered from their possession. They are residents of Pandhurna in Chhindwara district.The police have registered a case under the Section 379 and 511 of the IPC and have started further investigation. The recovered goods have been handed over to the passenger.Meanwhile, two other women were also nabbed on suspicion of theft from Bhopal railway station on Thursday.The accused are from Amla and used to steal valuables from the passengers on Amla –Nagpur and Amla-Bhopal routes. They used to target crowded places at the stations and would steal valuables from the purses of the woman passengers. The accused — Sangeeta and Nanda — are residents of Amla of Betul district. |
