Two local suburban trains collided in Mumbai near Andheri railway station on Saturday/Sunday overnight leaving six persons injured. The two local trains - Churchgate-Borivli and the Virar-Churchgate - collided near one of the platforms of Andheri railway station in the mid night today. However, no report of death has come so far but six persons have been reported injured in which the condition of three are very critical, sources say. After the collision, a large crowd gathered at the spot and tried to disrupt rail services that caused discomfort to the commuters. Some of them stoned on Railway properties, which could be controlled by implementing security forces. The situation is still under control. Preliminary reports indicate the accident occurred due to signal or track failure. |
