From 1st July when GST will come in to play, there are things which are going to be cheaper but travelling in AC coaches of train will cost you more. From first July you have to pay more service tax on ticket of AC coaches of train. Presently a service tax of 4.5% is levied on tickets of AC coaches which will increase to 5% from July 1. If kept in simple terms, if you were paying Rs 2000 currently for a ticket of AC coach; from July 1 onwards you will pay Rs 2010. Those passengers who already purchased their ticket but will travel on or after July 1 will also have to pay the increased amount while travelling. TTE will collect the remaining amount from such passengers. | ||
