Railway may soon rename trains after famous literary works. A new proposal regarding this ready to come up in which trains will named after famous literary works referencing their regions too. For Example a train heading towards West Bengal will be called as Mahashweta Devi express or to Bihar - Dinkar Express. To rename multiple trains ministry is creating a bank of award winning literary works from across the country. The idea cam from the former railway minister, Suresh Prabhu according to whom - the railways is a secular integrating factor in the country and the names of the trains can be used to showcase varied cultural identities. So we will name trains on the works of the authors across languages and across regions.” As per railway officials, preliminary work has already begun. Some trains however have literary touch like Godan Express, Kaifiyat Express. |
