A special train from Assam that left Guwahati on Saturday is scheduled to arrive in Bangalore in the evening on Monday.Railway sources told The Hindu here on Sunday that the special train with 16 sleeper coaches will reach Bangalore at 6 p.m. via Bhubaneswar, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Chennai.“We are told that the train is almost full. More than 1,000 people are on it. But, we have no idea how many of them are from the northeast and how many of them are among the thousands who fled Bangalore during the exodus last month,” a Railway official said.However, the Railway police have made elaborate security arrangements.

“We have arranged for police escort on the train when it enters the State borders. We have also deployed personnel at railway stations en route ,” Mir Arif Ali, Deputy Superintendent of Railway Police, Bangalore, said.
“We have made elaborate security arrangements at the Bangalore City Railway Station also,” he said.Railway sources said that the train in the return direction, “Train No. 02509 Bangalore City–Guwahati Special”, will leave Bangalore at 10.10 a.m. on Tuesday and reach Guwahati at 4 p.m. on Thursday.
