Have you seen the Hollywood film Unstoppable? if you have --- then those scenes were played out in real life in Karnataka when a Runaway train engine travelled without a driver for almost 13 kilometres. Later the engine was brought to a halt after a dramatic chase on a bike. On Wednesday Mumbai bound train arrived at wadi Junction in Karnataka. As a routine the train's electric engine gets swapped with a diesel engine. This train completes its onward journey from Wadi to Solapur with diesel engine. After switching the two engines the loco pilot got off from the diesel engine but to his horror the engine started moving in opposite direction. Thereafter the followed scenes were are almost like a Hollywood movie flick however the only difference is that this time engine was moving at a speed of 30 km per hour.

 Once the engine started moving Railway officials instantly alerted the next few stations to clear the signal so that any accident can be avoided; also trains from opposite direction were also halted. It took 20 minutes to chase down the ghost engine and officials riding on bike managed to board back on engine once it slowed down. At nalwar station the engine was under control and a special probe is ordered for investigation of this incident.
