Project for providing safety, security to passengers on the cards. Union Minister of State for Railways K.H. Muniappa on Saturday said that he did not rule out the chances of sabotage in the train inferno that shook the entire country in which more than 32 persons were killed and over 25 injured.Talking to media persons Mr. Muniappa categorically discarded the conjectures that short circuit could be the main cause for the inferno on the wheels. When reports clearly state that all the bogeys in the Chennai bound Tamilnadu express underwent the overhauling exercise just four months back how can anybody harp on the suppositions he questioned?He further said that he would wait for the forensic experts report before jumping into any final conclusion.Dwelling further he said that the death toll in the ghastly TN Express fire officially rose to 30 on Saturday. The figure is arrived at in accordance to the list of passengers who officially boarded the train on the appalling day. The list also confirms that of the 72 passengers who had reserved their tickets on the ill- fated day only 67 had undertaken the journey.He reiterated that the government along with the required compensation would also provide a job to the families of the deceased.In reply to a question he said that the government is considering taking the assistance of Belgium experts in developing 15 identified railway stations in the country in accordance to the international standards along with the Tirupati railway station. |
