Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan said here on Friday that the discovery of a crude but potent bomb on the railway track at Thonnallur near Piravom Road on Thursday could not be dismissed as a simple case of scaremongering. At the police headquarters here, he told presspersons that it was too early in the stage of investigation to state whether the crime was the handiwork of mischief-makers or other criminal elements, including radical groups. The police were examining the nature and grade of the explosives and how the device was rigged. They were comparing the device with crude explosives recovered earlier. Earlier, the Home Minister released a collection of essays on democratic policing. State Police Chief Jacob Punnoose and Inspector General of Police B. Sandhya edited the journal. |
