The tri-weekly Mannargudi-Tirupathi express will start service from July 3, according to T.R.Baalu, MP and chairman of Railway Standing Committee. He told presspersons at Mannargudi on Friday that the train will leave Tirupathi at 10.25 a.m. on July 3 and will run via Katpadi, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Chidambaram, Sirkali, Tiruvarur and Nidamangalam and will arrive at Mannargudi at 10.35 p.m.From Mannargudi the train will leave at 5 a.m. and will reach Tirupathi at 5.45 p.m., Mr. Baalu said.The train will be operated from Tirupathi on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays. From Mannargudi, it will be operated on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.An announcement on the Mannargudi – Tirupathi express train was made in the Railway Budget. The Railway Minister had also announced the extension of the train numbers 16779 / 16780 Madurai – Tirupathi express on the main line to Rameswaram, besides increasing its frequency to three days a week. |
