To detect rail fractures, North Central Railways is testing rails equipped with inbuilt capacity to detect fractures. In case any fracture is detected, it will send alert message to railway station master’s panel not permit running of train. This detection will not top until the last signal from the nearest station is covered. North Central Railway is conducting a trial run for 25 km after some distance from railway station to access the efficiency of system. If this tests will come out as successful one; it might be a game changer in minimising accidents which occur due to untraced rail fractures. As of now to detect fractures every railway division constantly monitor tracks through patrolling. |
