A section of members of Tamizhaga Vaazhvurimai Katchi were arrested after they attempted to stage rail roko agitation here on Wednesday condemning the Centre for providing training to Sri Lankan defence personnel.The members assembled near Tiruchi railway junction to go ahead with their rail roko agitation plan when the police personnel deployed at the spot took them under preventive custody.While opposing the proposed visit of Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa to the country, the members condemned the attacks on Indian fishermen by Sri Lankan Navy. They condemned the Karnataka government for not providing Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu and demanded that power generated from Neyveli Lignite Corporation should not be given to that State. The members were led by the party's district president Rajendran.
