NAGPUR: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation's (NMC) city development officer and executive engineer, Rahul Warke will have to reimburse Rs 3,581 he sanctioned for the advertisement in the controversial proposal to name the railway station after Mohammed Hazrat Tajuddin Baba. Municipal commissioner Shyam Wardhane directed that the expenses be recovered from Warke.Additional municipal commissioner Hemant Kumar Pawar issued the order on Saturday. Warke's service book will also have a mention of the misdeed.Corporators from Congress (2), NCP and Muslim League (1 each) submitted applications to table a proposal in the NMC's general body for passing a resolution to name the railway station after Tajuddin Baba and submit it to the Railways. Warke failed to gauge the seriousness of the proposal and went ahead to invite suggestions and objections even though he had no powers to do so. | ||
