Special Drive against unauthorized hawking was conducted by South Central Railway. The Special teams comprising of officials drawn from Catering Department, Ticket Checking and Railway Protection Force (RPF) Personnel have conducted intensive checks across all six Divisions of Zone from March 1 to 15. The Special Drive led to booking of 3400 cases, which realized an amount of Rs. 1,238,237 as penalty for the lapses detected. Apart from this 112 persons were also sent to the Court for prosecution. The checks were also meant to inspect the cleanliness being maintained at base kitchens, quality of food items, correct weight of food items, proper adherence to the preparation process of all food items etc. In order to ensure that the food stalls on railway station platforms are manned by staff properly, punitive fines have been imposed on them as well as vendors in trains for not carrying proper identity cards. | ||
