The Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium volleyball courts were a beehive of activity last week when the CDVA-Nellai Friends Club organised the Murugappa-B division league. Ten teams took part in the competition which produced some thrilling contests. In the super league too every match was absorbing. Southern Railway and Sathyabama University entered the stage for the title fight. But a heavy downpour minutes before the final doused all hopes of the gathering. The contestants were declared as joint champions. Both the teams were promoted to the A division.Abay Kumar Singh, IPS, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crimes) presided over the prize distribution function in the presence of S. N. Jayamurugan, Chairman and Managing Director, SNJ Distillers, and A. K. Chitrapandian, Secretary, Chennai District Volleyball Association. | ||
