Indore: Narmada water for drinking and other purposes would soon be available at Indore railway station.Narmada project engineer Dharmendra Verma said, "Order to lay a two-km-long pipeline has been placed. Piped water would be supplied out of MY Hospital (MYH) overhead water tank".In May this year, sanction for `77 lakh was issued in a meeting of Mayor-in-Council (MiC) for 300-mm diameter pipeline to supply Narmada water at Indore railway station. A sum of `18 lakh went to Indore Development Authority (IDA) for laying pipeline of 200 mm diametre for the supply.The order for construction of overhead water tank was placed a year ago.The meeting was attended by IMC in-charge commissioner Manoj Pushp, Mayor-in-Council members Chandu Shinde, Sapna Chouhan, Jawahar Mangnani, Ajay Singh Naruka, Padma Bhoje and Gopal Malu.Railways had placed order for piped Narmada water supply thorugh 12 inch connection one year ago. As per railway official, the water would provide relief to passengers, railway staff, porters, railway police and others once this project starts functioning. |
