A safety seminar was held at the Multi-Department Training Centre of South East Central Railway Bilaspur Division at Loco Shed Bilaspur on Saturday.Divisional safety officer, Bilaspur Rail Division, NS Barel was present as chief guest on the occasion while senior safety officer (operation) PC Vishal was prominently present. Speaking on the occasion, NS Barel stated that railway trackmen, like soldiers of the country, served the people all through day and night, adding that they never try to escape from their work to protect the people from any kind of mishap.The seminar is being organised to update and refresh the knowledge and technical skills of railway staff belonging to various departments so as to avert mishaps.Appreciating the dedication of trackmen, Barel termed that they are roots of Indian railway and said that they should work with stress-free mind.He also advised employees to take care of their health.Senior safety officer PC Vishal stressed that the rail employees should be well aware of rules and regulations so that they should not make mistakes during duty.Rail administration should also award the employees for their performances from time to time, he added.The workshop also discussed details of disaster management and other safety measures to be taken to avert mishaps on railway tracks.Principal of Multi-Department Training Centre, RK Dongre, Assistant Safety Officer Prasenjit Majumdar and large number of and nearly 150 employees including guard, trackmen, supervisors and others were also present.
