Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu flagged off the second Humsafar train of the country that will run between Bengaluru Cant and Kamakhya (Guwahati). The inauguration took place at Kamakhya station from where Humsafar Express took off for its inaugural run between Kamakhya and Bangaluru Cant at 01:00PM today.

At the scene, State Chief Minister Shri Sarbananda Sonowal and Railway Minister of State Shri Rajen Gohain were present as the guests while Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu was online through video conferencing.

Shri Prabhu said, earlier the north-eastern region used to get the benefits of development at the last; but the scene has been reversed and the region now gets all the benefits first. He cited the example that the second Humsafar Express of the country has been flagged off today connecting northeast with Bangalore and lauded the Minister of State for Railways Shri Rajen Gohain for his active involvements.
