Two killed and 43 other passengers are injured in another train accident in the same region. Train number 12987 Sealdah – Ajmer express got derailed passing a bridge over a dry canal 70km away from Kanpur. The accident took place around 5:15AM in the morning when there was dense fog all-around. As many as 15 coaches of the express train went off-track out of which two coaches fell into canal. A railway spokesperson said currently railway is only focusing on rescue and relief operations. A medical relief train from Kanpur was immediately sent to the spot. This is the second train accident in the same region. Earlier on November 20, Indore – Patna Express derailed when passengers were asleep, killing 150 people at-least. According to passenger travelling on the train said – I heard a loud bang and my coach started tilting on one side. I jumped out instantly and saw more derailed coaches. |
