Hyderabad  : South Central Railway (SCR) has detected 1.16 lakh cases of ticketless and irregular travel and realised Rs 6 crore from them in last month.To curb Ticketless Travel, several drives against ticketless and irregular travellers were organised by SCR under the personal supervision of Chief Commercial Manager M Sundar during the month of April.Dring the drives, a total of 1.16 lakh cases of ticketless irregular travel were detected and an amount of Rs six crore was realized, SCR said in a statement here today.This was the highest amount ever realised by South Central Railway during any particular month.As part of the drives, 2113 passengers were prosecuted in various courts and a fine of Rs 3.86 lakh was realized .The ticket checking drives will be further intensified during ensuing months to curb the social evil, ticketless travel in order to ensure comfortable travel to bonafide passengers and to arrest loss of revenue to the railway, the release added.
