Students made a beeline at the Nellore railway station here to have a glimpse of the “Science Express - Biodiversity Special,” a unique exhibition on bio-diversity and climate change. The expo on rail will be here till August 10. With prior registration, teachers and students can visit from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Inaugurated on June 5, World Environment Day, the exhibition entered its fifth phase.It was launch in 2007. The expo has so far covered 68,000 km across the country with 225 halts and 815 exhibition days.Running on the Indian Rail network, the Science Express has 16 coaches and has highlights issues such as climate change, energy conservation, legacy of express, teachers’ training, joy of science lab, on-platform activities and outreach activities.The Science Express will be at the Chennai Central from August 11 to 14 and at Kudal Nagar from August 16 to 19. At each of the 52 stations in the current phase from June to December, the expo is available for students for three to four days.It is a collaboration of the Department of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Environment and Forests.
