Mussoorie : Chief Personal Officer (administration), Northern Railways, Anand Singh Khati said yesterday that the main focus of the railway ministry was on to ensure passengers’ safety. He was speaking on the sidelines of a school function here.He said the ministry had taken several measures to ensure safe journey and much was planned through a safety fund available to the Railways in this budget.He further said the Railways focus was on improving and upgrading the basic amenities at the platforms and several measures were being taken in this regard. Speaking on the progress of the Rishikesh-Karnprayag railway line, he said it was a very big project.He said the work was in progress under the Railway Vikas Nigam, which was looking after the project.
