Rusting railway tracks in Uttar Pradesh are inviting accidents all the time. On paper one can find daily inspection sheet of railway tracks but the ground reality is far from acceptable. When Indore – Patna Express accident took place on November 20 last month Railway did an inspection of railway track between Malsa and Pukhraya. The result that came out from the inspection was horrible. In its report CRS gave in writing that between the two stations, tracks are rusting out in many places and it has also been found that slippers are missing from many places. In the report it was notified that trains should not run more than 30 kmph in this section and there should be regular foot-plating and patrolling of this section. Railway has accepted all these suggestions and has reduced train speed to 30kmph between the section besides regular patrolling between 12 midnight to morning 4 o clock. |
