Kolkata : Round-the-clock is on and altogether 614 Railways personnel have been deployed to restore the 300 metre track in Muri-Chandil section of South Eastern Railway severely damaged after 32 loaded wagons and two engines of a goods train jumped the rails on April 16. Railways sources said SER general manager A K Verma is supervising the restoration work. Train services on Muri-Chandil single line section in Ranchi division of South Eastern Railway remained disrupted for the third day today in the section. Train movement have remained affected between Suisa and Toirang stations in Purulia district in the section since Monday. Two 140 tonne cranes were brought from Bokaro steel city and Chakradharpur and another two 140 tonne cranes from East Central Railway and Kharagpur had been kept in readiness, SER sources said here today. The Railways has already diverted six long-distance trains and cancelled two others due to blockade on the tracks. |
