Gupta has rushed to the site to supervise relief and rescue operations, a Northern Railway statement said. At least 26 passengers were injured when eight coaches of the Delhi-bound train derailed between Sampla-Kharawar station of Rohtak-New Delhi section near Rohtak in Haryana on Delhi Division of Northern Railway in the wee hours today.

All the injured have been shifted to PGIMS in Rohtak, the statement said. A team of doctors headed by Chief Medical Superintendent of Northern Railway is camping at the hospital and assisting the hospital authorities. Most injured have been discharged after the treatment, it said.

The unaffected front portion along with the passengers of the train left at 6am and arrived at New Delhi by 8am and then continued its onward journey, the statement said, adding that minister for railways Mukul Roy is monitoring the situation.

Northern Railway has set up Telephone help lines for New Delhi(011-23342954, 011-23341074), Delhi Junction (011-23962389) and Nizamuddin (011-24359748, 011-24359735) stations, the statement said.
