In its initial investigation of derailment of Rajya Rani Express Railway is hinting sabotage. Railway mentions that defects in track could be due to extraneous factors. Investigators found almost a three-foot portion of railway track missing. Also on February 27 the track was tested using ultrasonic flaw detectors and the results came out as perfectly fine. This incites the possibility of sabotage by using extraneous methods. The next UFSD test of track is due on April 27 according to the schedule. Railway says that tack fracture can only be cause either due to poor maintenance or by external man-made factors or sabotage. The real cause however will be officially declared after completion of enquiry. It must be noted that five trains passed over the track before the ill-fated Rajya Rani Express whose eight coaches derailed causing injuries to many passengers. |
