MUMBAI: Central Railway (CR) will undertake a trial run of toy train between Aman Lodge and Matheran on Friday to pave the way for running of services during the rainy season. If the trial succeeds, it will be for the first time in the history of toy train that services will be run during the monsoon.CR suspends toy train services between Neral and Matheran during the monsoon for safety reasons.A CR official said, "The trial will be carried out over a period of two days. On completion of the trial run, a report will be sent to the commissioner of railway safety (central circle) for approval to run the service during the monsoon."CR plans to introduce monsoon services from August 20 if the plan is approved. The official said, "We plan to run at least one service every hour between sunrise and sunset. The train will have eight coaches. It is expected to complete the journey in 15-20 minutes."
