Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu confirmed in Parliament that there is no proposal to link Aadhar number with railway passes. Government is in the process of developing HRMS (Human Resources Management System) so that pensioners and employees can book tickets online through any portal. Currently there is no online facility to book tickets online for railway pass holders; however once HRMS will be implemented fully; railway pass holders can book tickets online. There are 16,360 officers in Group A and B categories and 1,312,449 officers in Group C and D categories in the Railways. Passes are issued based on the basic pay. | ||
