The South Western Railway Sports Association (SWRSA) will host the 60th All-India Railway Table Tennis championship from July 5 to 9 at the District Indoor Stadium.SWRSA vice-president U. Krishna Murthy and general secretary S.K. Gupta told presspersons here on Tuesday that this would be a diamond jubilee year event. Apart from team championships for men, women and veterans, competitions would be singles events in each of the categories. In all, 14 men’s and six women’s teams representing various zones and production units of the Railways would take part in the event.The men’s team event would be played on a league-cum-knock-out basis. Teams have been divided into four pools.In the women’s team event, all the six teams have been placed in a single pool and will be made to play in the super-league format, they said. | ||
