HUBLI, APRIL 20: An Intercity Express between Bangalore and Mysore and a double line between Hubli and Dharwad came up for discussion today.Speakers at the 12th Zonal Railway Users' Consultative Committee (ZRUCC) meeting held at Hubli, under the Chairmanship of Mr Ashok Kumar Mital, General Manager, South Western Railway, suggested various proposals to benefit the train passengers.The committee discussed various issues regarding provision of level crossing gates, road under bridges, road over bridges, re-opening of Hudkula Railway station between Bangarpet and Kolar.A plan for direct entry of road transport lorry/ commercial vehicles at platform to load and unload for passenger trains of Bangalore and other issues such as introduction of train between Chennai and Hubli also came up for discussion.The ZRUCC members who attended the meeting are: Mr Babulal G. Jain; Mr Bidarur Shrishylappa Virupakshappa, MLA; Mr Shank Gouda H. Patil; Mr Narayana Swamy A.V.; Mr Suresh Naidu; Mr D. Kishore Kumar; Mr G. Nagaraja Rao; Mr Y.R. Belegal; Mr Ashok Jere; Mr T. Surajmal Jain; Mr G.K. Adappagoudar; Mr J.R. Bangera; Mr Damodardas R. Rathi; Mr Gangaram S. Morajkar; Mr P.V.S. Nageswara Rao, and Mr Vinay Kumar.The committee members also suggested a new superfast train (special train) between Hubli and Dadar, introduction of two passenger trains on Sundays from Bangarpet to Bangalore and also stoppage of Kochuveli-Bangalore Train and Hatia Express train at Bangarpet junction. |
