In connection with the derailment of Hirakhand Express Indian Railways is likely to take stern action against five employees of East Coast Railway zone including Waltair division. The accident took lives of 39 people. As per sources, railway board held an internal enquiry through video – conferencing with officers at the East Coast railway zone headquarters. Officers of administration department are also under lens. In any movement of train staff from safety, mechanical, signalling and operations are involved. Sources say that some officers are not sincerely doing their duties. It was found that some officers who are supposed to inspect 50-km long railway track, usually inspects a portion of it by using the track inspection vehicle and takes the road route to cover the balance portion of the track. |
