Jagraon : A long-pending demand of residents of Jagraon was fulfilled when a reservation counter was opened at the Jagraon railway station today.The residents had been demanding to set up a reservation window at the local railway station for a long time.The residents have expressed happiness over the opening of reservation centre at Jagraon, as now they will be able to book their tickets from the railway station.“The opening of the reservation centre is a good initiative. This will prove beneficial for thousands of residents of Jagraon, especially businessmen and traders, who travel to different parts of the country on regular basis,” said Raj Kumar Bhalla, a local businessman.Earlier, in the absence of the reservation centre, the residents of Jagraon had to visit Ludhiana or Moga railway stations for getting their tickets reserved, which caused a lot of inconvenience.A team of senior officials of the Indian Railway comprising commercial inspector Aarti Khanna, Northern Railway UTS Himmat Kumar and station superintendent Kulwinder Singh Grewal inaugurated the ticket reservation centre this morning. Northern Railway Men Union president Ashok Kumar Dhand was also present during the opening ceremony.Giving details of the services to be provided at the new reservation centre, station superintendent Grewal informed that the residents could book railway tickets for any part of the country from the centre.“The reservation window will remain open for 12 hours from 8 am to 8 pm from Monday to Saturday, while the service will be available from 8 am till 2 pm on Sundays,” he added. |
