Railway constituted a task force on safety to after derailment of Indore – Patna express on December 6 last year. Task force came out with its report in which it was pointed out that it is the failure of railway staff which caused the trains accident. The committee was asked to analyse data and conduct investigations into the past accidents. It submitted the report in which it was categorically stated that failure of railway staff causes 60% accidents which lead to death and injuries. While if the cause of accident to be highlighted, it is the asset failure like track fractures or weld fractures that cause the maximum number of accidents. The committee has also suggested railway upgrade its technology so that dependency of human intervention can be minimised. Pointing out detection of tracks as a complex process the report says that automatic procedure must be adopted as soon as possible. | ||
