NAGPUR: Within 48 hours of a robbery, GRP Bhusawal police nabbed the thieves who had stolen gold and diamond studded valuables, cell phones and cash, totally worth Rs28.80 lakhs, from three passengers.According to the police, the incident had taken place on June 19 in the sleeper coach of Nagpur-Pune express. The passengers Nitin Mule, Asha Sharma and Shweta Kothari, all residents of Pune, were asleep when the thieves fled with their bags.Besides gold, Kothari suffered a loss of diamond valuables worth Rs28 lakhs. Mule and Sharma's cell phone and some cash were stolen.Initially, a case was registered at Pune GRP. Later, it was transferred to Bhusawal. During investigations, Bhusawal GRP found Sharma's purse dumped on the road, which helped them to get a clue about the robbers.On further interrogation, cops nabbed Bhusawal resident Yuvraj Hondale (27) while he was at the Sarafa Bazar in the city to sell the stolen valuables. Later, cops arrested Hondale's wife also. Police have so far recovered valuables worth Rs14 lakh. |
