The Government Railway Police (GRP) conducted raids on Guwahati Express train in the wee hours of Saturday and verified the passengers on the alleged child trafficking from other States.On a tip-off, the police teams led by GRP Vijayawada Division Superintendent of Police Ch. Syam Prasad checked 30 children, all aged between 8 and 15 years, who were travelling from Kishangunj in Bihar to Andhra Pradesh. Police checked their documents and confirmed that the children were studying in a Madarsa School at Mahabubabad in Warangal district.“All the 30 passengers, were accompanied by caretakers and were carrying tickets and other documents. We enquired with the institution management who confirmed that the children are studying in their institution. The raids were conducted on the moving train from Visakhapatnam to Rajahmundry”. |
