Railway with help of French technical help is working on trains that can run at 200kmph on Delhi – Chandigarh route. French railways will submit its execution strategy and model involving up-gradation of 245km route. Currently Shatabdi express which is the fastest train on this route covers this distance in about three hours and 30 minutes clocking maximum permissible speed of 110kmph. A high-level delegation meeting of Indian Railways and SNCF will soon take place. In the meeting railway will ask French railways to prepare draft document for semi-high speed trains in Delhi – Chandigarh sector. The French team will submit the final report with details of cost analysis by October. | ||
