NEW DELHI: An employment racket that cheated nearly 400 men of more than Rs 1 lakh each has been busted with the arrest of three conspirators. However, one suspect remains at large. Police said the gang targeted railway job aspirants in Bihar, West Bengal and Haryana, and duped them with a fake website resembling the official site of Railway Recruitment Board Muzaffarpur, Bihar.South district police said the accused — Sagar Saxena (32), Pravin Kumar (24) and Virender Sharma (29) — are well qualified academically. One of them is an MBA, another a DU graduate and the third a software engineer."During interrogation, they revealed that they connived with a man named Manish, from West Bengal, to create a fake website whose link resembled that of the official website of the railway recruitment board. They would declare results on their site using roll numbers lifted from the original website. Thereafter, they would contact the candidates as railways officials and collect money from them to assure a job," said additional DCP, PS Kushwaha. |
