Indian Railways is trying to make feel women passengers safe on its trains. To enhance the security of women passenger's on trains; following steps are taken by the railways - 
 

  • Installation of CCTV cameras at 394 stations till date. 
  • Railway has identified vulnerable routes and deployed Railway Protection Force in 2500 trains passing on those routes. 
  • Increase in number of ladies special trains escorted by lady RPF personnel. 
  • Through social media, Railway is trying to connect directly to women passengers so that any security concern can be resolved immediately. 
  • For security related assistance to passengers in distress, Indian Railways has made Security Help Line number 182 operational . 
  • Surveillance mechanism has been improved at more than 202 stations. 
  • To stop male passengers entering in compartments reserved for ladies, regular drives are being conducted. 
  • To prevent any crime, RPF and state Police has joined hands.
