Railway police on Thursday traced threat calls made to the Medchal and Bolarum railway stations and found them to be pranks played by miscreants. One of the calls was made from a public telephone booth in Ramachandrapuram in East Godavari district.According to the railway police, the station masters of Bolarum and Medchal received calls stating that a bomb had been planted in their station and that it would explode any time. The station masters alerted the Secunderabad railway police.Bomb disposal squads with sniffer dogs and CLUES teams were rushed to the stations to detect and defuse the ‘bombs.’ They turned out to be hoax calls.Police traced caller ID of one of the call made to Bollarum station and are investigating the other made to Medchal. “We will take action on the pranksters,” said inspector Ashok Kumar. |
