Heavy rain in Mumbai disturbed rail and road traffic on Pune-Mumbai routes on Tuesday. While the trains from Mumbai were running nearly two hours late, Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) had to cancel 22 trips of buses plying between Pune and Mumbai.Mumbai city is witnessing heavy rain for the last two days, due to which the roads and the railway tracks were submerged. Trains from Mumbai to Pune were running two hours late. YK Singh, public relations officer of central railway’s Pune division said, “The Deccan Express and Udyan Express left Mumbai in the morning. These trains were to reach Pune before noon, but they were stuck in Kalyan and reached Pune several hours late. The delay affected other trains, which are 2 hours late.”The rain disturbed the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) schedule. The MSRTC officials of Pune division said, “There were not many passengers on the Pune-Mumbai bus route on Tuesday, due to which we cancelled 22 trips from Pune to Mumbai.”The traffic on Mumbai-Pune Expressway moved at a snail’s pace. At 1.25 am on Tuesday, a landslide took place near Adoshi tunnel, due to which one of the lanes from Pune to Mumbai was closed. | ||
