While all the underground stations will be air-conditioned, the air inside the tunnel will be from these stations that are pushed by the metro trains. What is called the “piston effect”, the air in the tunnel will be pushed by the moving train from the station since the distance between stations is not more than a kilometre. Only during emergency situation such as smoke or fire that additional air will be pushed in for which provisions will be made. | ||
