After Punjab’s offer for land for the development of Railway industry in the State on Sunday, it was the turn of Haryana to make a similar offer.Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Monday offered land and urged the Union Railway Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal to send a team to the State to choose appropriate land for the same.The Union Railway Minister had asked the State Governments of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh to give land to develop railway industry on Sunday. Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal was the first who offered land in the State to the Railway Ministry.Appreciating the plan of Bansal to develop railway industry on the pattern of West Bengal in the States adjacent to Chandigarh, Hooda said that Haryana already has units of many multi-national companies and Public Sector Undertakings because of its distinct geographical location which attracts industry. Also, the State Government had implemented an investment and industrial-friendly policy, which was yielding encouraging results. “Haryana is the first choice for industrial investors and the State has adequate technical manpower,” Hooda added. He said that with the setting up of railway industry in the State, not only the auxiliary units would come up, but it would also generate ample employment opportunities which would further strengthen the economy and provide employment to the youth. The chief minister assured all cooperation of the State Government for setting up of the railway industry in Haryana. |
