The Dharwad district conveners of the Communist Party of India have questioned why candidates who qualified for Group D posts in South Western Railway after clearing both written and medical tests have not been issued appointment letters. This was doing “injustice” to the candidates, who also went through document verification, B.A. Mudhol, Pyatishettar, G.H. Kariyannavar, N.A. Kaji and Geeta Katagi said in a release here.In the appointment process for 3,600 Group D posts initiated during 2007, orders to 150 candidates had not been served appointment letters till date, although they had cleared all hurdles. Then, applications were invited for 3,007 Group D posts. After the written and physical efficiency tests, 3,600 candidates were shortlisted and told document verification would begin from November 11. However, the names of as many as 350 candidates who had qualified in both tests were missing from the list invited for document verification on the SWR website. The members demanded clarification from SWR on why these candidates were not appointed. Besides, if these 500 (150+350) candidates were on “stand-by”, the release questioned why they were not picked before appointing new employees.Given these arguments, the appointment process raised suspicion, the release added. |
