South Central Railway Medical Department celebrated 57th RailwayWeek at the Rail Nilayam Auditorium , Secunderabad o­n 19th April, 2012.Dr S K Sharma Chief Medical Director was the Chief Guest o­n the function. The Divisional and Head Quarters Medical Incharges, Medical Officers and General Secretary South Central Railway Mazdoor Union with their office bearers werepresent at the occasion.Speaking o­n the occasion, Shri Dr. Sharma narrated the responsibilities of Medical Department in taking care of the health of Railway employees and their family members in order to ensure the peaceful and dedicated work of the employees to the organization. Helauded the team of experts Doctors who performed 153 Special surgeries in the Railway Hospital, Lallaguda.He presented“ailway Week Awards” to 100 Para Medical and other staff fromMedical Department for their meritorious service during the year 2011-12. He said that Cardiac Health check-up at Diesel Loco Shed, Kazipetand100%Health check-upcoverage for Railway employees at Hyderabad Bhavan were organized.He appreciated the Doctorswho had presented their papers in International and National Medical Conferences. Power Point Medical quiz was organised o­n the occasion followed by a Musical Nite.Lastly Dr. C Ravindra Sharma Additional Chief Medical Offocer, Health and Family Welfare also spoke o­n the occasion.

  Indian Railways News  / THIRD PRE-PAID AUTO COUNTER AT CITY RLY. STATION

Added convenience to commuters

Mysore, Apr.21- With the inauguration of the third pre-paid auto counter in the premises, people reaching city Railway Station from other places can now expect a speedy and hassle-free ride from the station to their destination without bargaining with auto drivers.

With this, the number of autos plying from the city will rise to about 1,800 as compared to the earlier 500 and the auto drivers are also benefited as they get the right fare.

The pre-paid auto counter which was set up in 2005 had failed to help hundreds of passengers who used to arrive at the same time which had forced them to wait for hours besides being extorted by auto drivers who used to demand high fares.

ACP (Traffic) Shankaregowda, who decided to help the affected, succeeded in establishing another pre-paid auto service counter at Babu Jagjivanram Circle outside the Railway Station on April 12 which has come very handy to many passengers who used to wait for hours besides reducing the density of traffic.

Maintenance

The attendants at the pre-paid auto counter will be maintained by the one rupee charged from each passenger on issue of receipts to travel to their destination.

The fares mentioned in the receipt would be fixed to the spot 200 meters away from the mentioned place which reduces the loss to the drivers besides not affecting the passengers also.

M.B. Rajesh, MP, will flag-off Red Ribbon Express, an exhibition train to create awareness of HIV\ AIDS, at Palakkad Railway Junction on Monday at 9 a.m.The exhibition train is visiting different railway junctions in the country to create awareness of the killer disease.As part of Red Ribbon Express, two life buses will also run to 16 centres at four blocks in the district on that day, said District Collector P.M. Ali Asgar Pasha and District Medical Officer K. Venugopal here on Saturday.The inaugural function will be presided over by district panchayat president T.N. Khandamuthan. Project director of the Kerala State Aids Control Society K. Shilaja will deliver the keynote address.

Increase in both passenger and freight earning has boosted revenues of the North-east Frontier (NF) Railway during 2011-12.The gross apportioned earnings of the Guwahati-headquartered NF Railway on originating basis in 2011-12 stood at Rs 2,808.28 crore as against Rs 2,616.06 crore in the previous financial year, a growth of 7.34 per cent.The total goods earnings went up by 9.83 per cent to Rs 1,435.10 crore in 2011-12 from Rs 1,307.09 crore in 2010-11.

Hyderabad  : Souch Central Railway (SCR) will provide one minute stoppage on a temporary basis for Nizamabad-Kacheguda-Nizamabad DEMU Passengser train at Srinivasanagar with effect from May 1.In a release, the SCR here said Train No 77687 Nizamabad-Kacheguda DEMU Passenger train will arrive at Srinivasanagar Halt station at 1608 hrs and depart at 1609 hrs.In the return direction Train No 77686 Kacheguda-Nizamabad DEMU Passenger train will arrive at Srinivasanagar Halt station at 1059 hrs and depart at 1100 hrs, the release added.
