ALLAHABAD: A video conference was held at the North Central Railway headquarters at Subedarganj under the chairmanship of general manager of NCR Alok Johri. Divisional railway managers of Allahabad, Agra and Jhansi along with the heads of departments participated in the conference and discussed the payments to the retired railway employees and benefits to be granted to the kin of employees who suffer a sudden death.Addressing the meeting, Johri said welfare programmes that are associated with railway employees should be properly implemented. He also laid emphasis on the appointments to be made under dependent of the deceased quota and LARSGESS (Liberalized Active Retirement Scheme of Guaranteed Employment of Safety Staff) scheme on priority basis. He also said that payments like death cum retirement gratuity (DCRG) should be made promptly.He also instructed divisional railway managers and chief workshop managers to personally participate in the monthly retirement programmes and boost the morale of the retired railway employees.

He also said that in case of sudden death of a railway employee, divisional railway manager or principal officers should send a condolence letter to the bereaved family. In addition, there should be information in the letter about the various payments and welfare schemes that will be given to the members of the bereaved family. Further, the documents that will be needed for availing this facility should also be mentioned in the letter.
