Personal grudge triggered the alarming incident in which pipe bombs were detected near railway tracks at Velloor, the joint investigation launched by state police and crime branch reveals. The investigation confirms that a 37-year old man named Senthil Kumar planted the bomb near the railway track. According to the police,Senthil Kumar,a KSRTC driver who resides at Azhakath house in Veliyanadu near Mulanthuruthy, planted the pipe bombs and engraved the name of K J Thomas of Nirappel house, Edakkattuvayal, with whom he nurtured personal enmity, in a bid to distract the investigation towards him. The investigation team has launched a combing operation to nab Senthil. Tracing his mobile phone signals the police found that Senthil has got away to Coimbatore. Meanwhile, The investigation team has taken Thomas into custody. The team led by Pala DySP M Rameshkumar and Crime Branch Circle Inspector Biju K Stephen, raided Senthil’s house and found the parts of the clock reportedly used as the timer of the bomb and pieces of PVC pipes similar to those in which detonators were carried. Besides, they discovered a hand glove and a shirt with paint drips which bore similarities to the incident. Police have taken these items into custody for detailed examination. Police also suspect that some external forces could have helped Senthil to set in the bomb, as the mechanism used was highly sophisticated. “The connection to the circuit was misplaced in the tiffin box which averted a mishap. Moreover, the content of the ammonium nitrate was very low, and was not enough for causing a major accident. ” said Crime Branch Circle Inspector Biju K Stephan. |
